Overview

About This Program

This 10-week, small-group program builds health literacy and practical wellbeing knowledge for older Queenslanders, particularly people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities. Using trusted information and plain-language education, participants explore healthy ageing, nutrition, safe movement, mental wellbeing, cognitive health and appropriate health and community services.

Why This Program Matters

Community Need

Older people can face barriers to clear, relevant and culturally appropriate health information, making it harder to understand options and access suitable support.

Program Purpose

The program strengthens health literacy so participants can identify trusted information, ask informed questions and make choices that support their wellbeing.

Accessible Delivery

Plain-language information, culturally responsive examples, group discussion and gentle activities make learning accessible and relevant to everyday life.

Intended Outcomes

Improved health literacy, greater wellbeing confidence, stronger awareness of support services and continued participation in community life.
