As a newly established charity, Queensland Lifelong Academy is building its evidence base from the beginning. We define intended outcomes, record program delivery and use participant feedback to understand what is working and where improvement is needed.
MEASURING WHAT MATTERS
OUTCOMES WE AIM TO SUPPORT
Our programs are designed to support practical improvements in independence, connection and participation for older Queenslanders and diverse communities.
CONFIDENCE & INDEPENDENCE
Participants build practical knowledge, skills and confidence to manage everyday tasks more independently, make informed choices and seek appropriate support when needed.
CONNECTION & BELONGING
Participants build supportive relationships, reduce social isolation and develop a stronger sense of belonging through regular learning, creative and community activities.
ACCESS & PARTICIPATION
Participants gain confidence accessing information, services and learning opportunities, enabling them to make informed choices and participate more fully in community life.
HOW WE MEASURE PROGRESS
We use proportionate, participant-friendly methods suited to each program, its intended outcomes and any funding requirements.
ATTENDANCE & PARTICIPATION
We record attendance, session completion, delivery locations and participation patterns for each program.
PARTICIPANT FEEDBACK
Participants can provide simple verbal, visual or written feedback, with assistance available when required.
OUTCOME CHECKS
Selected programs use simple before-and-after questions aligned with their intended outcomes.
FUNDING & REPORTING
Program delivery, expenditure and agreed outcomes are documented for internal review and funder reporting.
FROM DELIVERY TO EVIDENCE
Evaluation is built into program delivery so that the information we collect is useful, proportionate and connected to continuous improvement.
RECORD
We record what was delivered, who participated and whether planned activities were completed.
REVIEW
We review participation, feedback and outcome information to identify strengths, barriers and areas for improvement.
IMPROVE
We apply findings to future program design and provide clear reporting to funding and delivery partners.
