General

What is Queensland Lifelong Academy?

Queensland Lifelong Academy is a program of Multicultural Senior Digital Support QLD Inc, an ACNC-registered charity supporting older adults from multicultural backgrounds in Brisbane, Ipswich and Logan.

Who are the programs for?

Older adults aged 50 and over, from any cultural or language background. No prior experience with technology is needed.

Is there support in languages other than English?

Yes. Our volunteer facilitators can explain instructions in Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese and Korean, and we are working to expand language support further.

Do I need to register myself?

No. A family member, carer, or our team can register a participant by phone — participants do not need to fill out any forms themselves.

Our Programs

How long is each program?

Every program runs for 10 weeks (one school term), with one 2.5-hour session per week.

Where are programs held?

At community halls across Brisbane, Ipswich and Logan. Venue confirmation for each intake is in progress — contact us for the latest details.

How many people join each program?

Each intake is limited to 25 participants, to keep sessions personal and hands-on.

Will I get a certificate?

Yes. Upon completing a program, participants receive a certificate of completion.

Volunteering

Can I volunteer?

Yes. We are always looking for volunteer facilitators, especially those who speak Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese or Korean. Contact us to find out more.

How can my business or organisation get involved?

We welcome sponsorship, in-kind support, and venue partnerships. Contact us to discuss how your organisation could support a program.

How fast will I get a response?

Our team usually responds within a few business days.

Cost & Access

Is it really free?

Yes. All four programs are fully subsidised — there is no cost to participants.

Are donations tax-deductible?

Not yet. We do not currently hold Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status and are applying for it. We will update this page once that changes.
