Overview

About This Program

This 10-week, small-group program helps older Queenslanders understand and navigate government, aged care, health and community services. Participants learn how to find trusted information, understand common service pathways, prepare questions and seek appropriate assistance. Plain-language information and culturally responsive support reduce barriers without replacing professional advice.

Why This Program Matters

Community Need

Complex service systems, unfamiliar terminology and online processes can prevent older people from finding information and support when they need it.

Program Purpose

The program builds service-navigation confidence so participants can understand their options, prepare questions and connect with appropriate organisations.

Accessible Delivery

Plain-language explanations, guided demonstrations and culturally responsive support make complex information easier to understand and use.

Intended Outcomes

Improved access to trusted information, greater confidence navigating services and earlier connection with appropriate community and professional support.
